Date Posted: 2024-05-10 Country: United States of America Location: OT499: BTT - BRISTOL, CT 99 CENTURY DRIVE, BRISTOL, CT, 06010 USA Job Title Master Technician, Electrical Role Overview: In a time of exciting transformation for Otis, continuing the company’s path of change, our Engineering organization is hiring a Master Technician, Electrical within our Farmington, Connecticut Lead Design Center (LDC). In this role, you will be involved in the design, fabrication, development, test, and release of products worldwide. Our goal is to safely deliver accurate results on time to our internal customers and maximize safety and performance to our external customers with reliable, secure, elevator functionality. In this role you will be asked to apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions. The location will begin in the Quality Assurance Center and Bristol Test Tower in Bristol, CT. On a typical day you will: Perform under minimal supervision. Job performance will be measured in adherence to EHS policies, the integrity of test results and timely completion of projects. Demonstration of a commitment to customer requirements and delight. Completion of qualification testing for electrical tests in both the QAC and the BTT. Modernize BTT and QAC test fixtures/controllers/simulators etc with emphasis on using Otis’s hardware and software. Develop standard work for: Following Otis wire color code for voltages Using safe and efficient wiring practices Standardize the building of test fixtures Design an onboarding plan for new BTT/QAC employees that will allow a more successful start to their career Leads in mentoring, training, and coaching of technical, entry-level personnel What You Will Need to be Successful: High School Diploma with an aptitude for the technical or skilled trades. 15 years of electrical technician work experience is required. Aptitude for understanding test procedures and qualification requirements Aptitude for building, troubleshooting and operation of electrical test fixtures. Using various test equipment including voltmeters, oscilloscopes, meggers, temperature measuring and monitoring equipment. Aptitude for troubleshooting control systems and drives. Strong team working skills with project teams and other technicians. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential. Must be proficient in spoken and written English and computer literate Must be able to read and understand electrical engineering drawings and implement their requirements. Proficient in electrical fabrication. Knowledge/working experience running climtic chmabers, including; temperature/humidity, salt fog, thermal shock, HALT, dust, and vibration Working knowledge of immunity testing including; AC power quality, transient surge, electrical fast transient burst, and ESD Local Benefits or Selling Statement To attract the right individual, Otis is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package.
