Date Posted: 2024-04-03 Country: United States of America Location: OT999: 1CP - Farmington, CT One Carrier Place, Farmington, CT, 06032 USA Role Overview: The Associate, Accounting and Controllership, is in Otis’ World Headquarters Controller’s department. The Controllers Department is comprised of Financial Reporting and Consolidations, Financial Operations, and SEC Reporting. This role will specifically support the Financial Operations and Financial Reporting/Consolidations teams. As a member of the Controllers Group, the Associate will be directly involved in the quarterly consolidation, closing and financial reporting process, working cross functionally within both teams. This is a challenging role which requires a high level of commitment, but which provides exposure to many departments within Finance. The responsibilities are laid out in more detail below: On a typical day you will: Participate in the Consolidations monthly and quarter end closing, including: Analyzing, preparing, and providing support for journal entries in JDE and HFM Month end reconciliation preparation and review Participating in the review of the Otis consolidated balance sheet and providing fluctuation analysis Intercompany account review and reconciliations Assist Financial Operations including supporting the following: Department analysis and fluctuations to forecast Provide accounting guidance to WHQ departments as needed Review and validate monthly accruals Prepare and distribute flash reports to finance department Review and analysis of GRNI Other/Projects: Assist with implementing improved standard work library and reference library Participate in SOX testing semiannually Other special projects as necessary What You Will Need to be Successful: Systems Utilized: Extensive use of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) HFM Retrieve JD Edwards Blackline K2 workflow tool Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
