The Otaku Group seeks a Floor Manager Otaku in the Gulch! The Otaku teams are fun, energetic, and tight knit. During service, we rock out, serve amazing food and have a great time doing it. Hard work and fun go together at Otaku restaurants.

Floor Manager Job Description

• Be a leader & hold yourself accountable to the highest standards

• Help execute the The Otaku Group mission & vision

• Oversee service, keeping guest satisfaction as the primary & ultimate goal

• Complete assigned duties & projects in a timely manner

• Maintain a positive & propulsive vibe

• Top notch communications with both FOH & BOH teams

• Engage in industry specific research & keep a finger on the pulse of Nashville’s food & beverage scene but also the cultural scene as a whole

Duties include but are not limited to:

Guest Service & Staff Interaction

• Maintain & improve high expectations of service with both an individual & team-based perspective

• Keep staff on task & double check side work completion

• Participate in line-ups, food meetings, beverage tastings when applicable

• Stress the importance of education with all staff

• Drive sales during daily services & special events

• Work on floor helping guests & service staff

• Take care of VIPs, regulars, Otaku employees & industry friends

• Deal with all guest issues of both positive & negative natures

• Be solution oriented rather than problem focused

Facilities

• Exterior walkthrough including street fronts, windows, sidewalks, entryways

• Interior walkthrough including all areas of the restaurant plus employee area, hallways, trash room, bathrooms, office

• Turn lights up to appropriate levels & adjust throughout service

• Ensure placement of chairs & tables in dining room for service, adjusting when necessary

• Ensure placement of seating at bar, checking for orderliness

• Double check floor areas and windows to ensure cleanliness

• Work with kitchen managers to maintain clean & safe working environments for all staff

• Double check stocking of all soaps, toiletries, etc. to ensure guest & staff comfort

Technical and Office

• Check email, forward messages, return emails

• Enter financial information into appropriate reporting systems

• Maintain clean and organized office cage

• Update ordering platforms with 86’s, time changes, etc

• Help with Bar inventory/ Bar Ordering. Participate in inventory monthly.

• Participate in weekly and monthly manager meetings.
