Job Title: CNC Lathe Setup/Operator

Reports To: Plant Manager

Pay Status: Hourly

Position: Plant

General Duties:

Setting up and operating CNC and manual machines

Specific Job Functions:

• Setup and operation of CNC machines
• Setup and operation of manual machines
• CNC program editing
• Inspection of product
• Instruct operators on procedures after setup

Knowledge of:

• Machine tools
• Cutting tools
• Inspection Equipment
• Statistical process control

Skilled in:

• Machine tool operation
• CNC setup
• Tooling and tool grinding

Ability to:

• Edit existing CNC programs from part prints
• Setup and operate CNC and manual machines
• Calculate job requirements
• Instruct other employees

Education and Experience:

2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for editing CNC programs and setting up CNC and manual machines; or any combination of education, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills and ability.

• Workmanship: 25

• Safety and Housekeeping: 12
