QUALIFICATIONS:1. Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teacher certification in 1 or more areas of special education preferred: Cross-Categorical, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Specific Learning Disability, Cognitive Disability.2. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform teaching duties in a professional mannerEstablish rapport with all Project LIFE and district staffProvides leadership to the on-site Project LIFE programCoordinates eligibility for local and state agencies to provide a seamless system of support before, during and at the conclusion of the Project LIFE program utilizing a person centered approach to meet individual needs (includes Vocational Rehabilitation and other long term supports)Develops IEP and transition goals for students and creates “career plan” based on individual preferences and skillsAssesses student skills and gather baseline dataPlans and provides daily classroom instruction in Project Life units of study and course work required for graduation creditPlans and provides daily instruction in life skills for adult independence - hygiene, food preparation, money management, cleaning, laundryModels appropriate workplace behaviorWorks with business liaison and department managers to develop internship sites, write job descriptions and plan for necessary job modificationsWorks with managers and co-workers to educate on disability awarenessCommunicates with parents on a regular basisCoordinates employment planning meetings to discuss progress toward work goalsPerforms job coach duties when neededMeets daily with job coaches to discuss intern progressMeets regularly with business liaison, managers and peer mentors to discuss intern strengths and challengesPlans and implements Project LIFE Advisory Committee meetings on a quarterly basis for strategic planning and continuous improvementParticipates in Business Advisory Councils to increase networking and career opportunities (industry focused - made up of community employers)Works with business to plan Project LIFE events such as orientation, information nights/Open house and graduationWorks with other team members to provide internal and external marketing for business and community such as events, newsletter articles, website information, tours, community presentations, etc.Coordinates internal career development with business liaison and teamCompletes necessary evaluations, reports and other documentationWorks with outside job developer to secure competitive employment in the communityCollects and reports data to Project LIFE and other partnersSuch other duties as may be determined by the administrative staff within parameters of the master agreement, Board of Education policies, state statutes, and administrative rules
