Expected pay for this position is $28.44 - $33.46/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Plumber lays out, plans, installs, and repairs piping (DWV piping, chilled water, domestic water, steam and condensate), plumbing fixtures, and related plumbing equipment according to specifications and Illinois plumbing codes. Studies blueprints to determine type and size of pipes to use, cuts pipes along layout markings and fits and/or welds, brazing, solders, seals, valves and other piping components. Perform pressure testing on piping systems for leaks and repairs as needed.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED
Five years vocational or apprenticeship training
Four to five years commercial or institutional work experience to acquire expertise to perform variety of plumbing work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure/Certifications: CCCDI Certification
Valid State of Illinois Plumber’s License
Current Driver’s License
Other skills/knowledge: Analytical skills necessary to determine cause and resolution of plumbing related problems.
