Orthopedics - The Corvallis Clinic Asbury Building is Hiring a Certified Athletic Trainer Near Corvallis, OR

This is a full-time position located in Corvallis, OR.

Summary: TheCertified Athletic Trainer/Orthopedic Medical Assistant collaborates withhealth care disciplines to provide quality direct and indirect care under thesupervision and direction of a Sports Medicine Provider or Orthopedic Surgeon.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Will participate and maintain a culture withinThe Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in theService and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, andembrace the principles contained within.

2. Assists in facilitating and implementing allaspects of health care, including but not limited to prevention, practice/eventcoverage, injury evaluation, medical appointments, treatment, rehabilitation,and team travel, mainly for outreach ATC.

3. Assists MD/DO with patient rooming, history,post operative care and education, ordering supplies for the department,splinting, casting, brace fitting (DME), assist with injection with and withoutimaging, patient calls and portal messages, physician order completion andfollow up with patients.

Education,Licensure and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Athletic training orrelated field required. Master’s degree a plus.

2. National Athletic Training Associationcertification required.

3. Two (2) years’ experience as an athletictrainer required.

4. Eligible for Oregon State Licensure required.

5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationor ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.

Knowledgeand Skills:

1. Possess the skills and knowledge needed to assist and care forothers. Ability to recognize systems,drug properties and interactions, treatments, and preventative health caremeasures within the scope of practice.

2. Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations thatmay arise with high risk or diverse patient populations. Ability to adjust actions in relation toothers and adapt to offer best possible care to patients.

3. Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complexissues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discussissues. Ability to perform grouppresentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.

4. Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinaryteam. Possess the knowledge and skillsto develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others andmaintain them over time.

5. Knowledge of medical records, procedures, and terminology. Ability to read, interpret and applypolicies, procedures, laws, and regulations.

6. Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics togeriatrics. Basic understanding ofage-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients andcaregivers. Possess personal sensitivityto the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towardspersons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
