Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in patient service and possess knowledge of hospital procedures and aseptic techniques.

• Responsibilities:

- Perform patient care duties under the supervision of healthcare professionals
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Apply anatomy and physiology knowledge to assist in patient assessments
- Utilize medical terminology accurately in patient interactions
- Assist in pediatric patient care as needed
- Apply and remove cast and splints as directed by physicians in office or at area hospitals.

• Assist physicians with reduction of fractures.
• Apply durable medical equipment as directed by physicians.
• Custom fabricates heat and mold splints as directed by physicians.
• Remove sutures and staples as directed by physicians.
• Complete dressing changes as directed by physician
• Complete all necessary documentation related to patient’s appointment. i.e. surgery forms, PT prescriptions, testing, work/school slips, prescriptions and distribute to patient, department or appropriate clinical assistant.
• Update physician protocols as needed.
• Evaluate patients with cast problems and take necessary steps to correct.
• Schedule clinical visits for cast checks.
• Maintain an adequate stock of sterilized instruments.
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies in cast room.
• Maintain all cast room equipment.
• Monitor and obtain sample medication stock and obtain physician signatures for the samples.
• Train other staff members in casting techniques.
• Float in the clinical area as needed.
• Work Triage Desk as needed.
• Assist with pre-certifications and referrals as needed.
• Obtain patient histories (PFSH) via telephone as needed.
• Complete all duties as directed by supervisor or physician.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Familiarity with pediatric care practices is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• Casting / Orthopaedic: 1 year (Required)
