Job Overview: Join the Orthopedic Center of Illinois as a Help Desk Technician, where you'll be the go-to support for our IT infrastructure. Your role is crucial in maintaining our LAN and WAN systems, ensuring our healthcare professionals and our vendors have the tech support they need.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as network technician for OCI in regards to Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) hardware and software. Conducts analysis, installation, and support of workstations, printers, office automation software, and other end using computing devices that are integrated onto the local area network.
  • Responsible for diagnosis, installation, up-grade and/ or troubleshooting OCI's computers and peripherals. May perform basic on-site repair of equipment, or coordinates repair through outside vendors or consultants.
  • Analyzes, detects, and resolves user difficulties including hardware and software malfunctions related to data input.
  • Collaborate with vendors for network and equipment support.
  • Researches, procures, installs, and/ or up-grades software programs necessary to meet or improve departmental operations. Provides support to end users in the installation and operation of such programs.
  • Creates and administers user profiles, passwords, and user menus allowing user access to electronic mail, other applications, and data. Provides training and technical assistance to computer system users.
  • Respond to help desk tickets, providing technical solutions and advice.
  • Escalate advanced tier issues to IT management to ensure effective teamwork in complex problem resolution.
  • Advises staff regarding policies for complying with licensing requirements, safeguarding computer operations, E-mail, Internet use, data collection and confidential information.
  • Advise on IT policies and ensure compliance, working closely with the IT team.
  • May operate under deadlines and be subjected to extra workloads.
  • Integrates OCI's mission and vision into daily tasks through dedication to customer satisfaction, quality improvement, and collaborative working relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT, with knowledge of network systems operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Servers, VMware, Active Directory, Citrix, Security tools, and M365 applications.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
