Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, treat, and direct treatment for patients for whom physical therapy is medically necessary.
• Educate all patients continually on their condition to ensure their commitment to treatment.
• Maintain ongoing documentation in which goals, progress toward functional goals, and medical necessity are clearly stated.
• Complete all required documentation (Initial Evaluations, Daily Treatment Notes, Plans of Care, Discharge Summaries, Insurance Forms, etc.) thoroughly and on a same-day basis in order to meet facility, physician and payor deadlines.
• Maintain open and respectful communication with co-workers, physicians and staff.
• Able to confidently and knowledgeably communicate with patients, developing a strong patient rapport throughout the process.
• Attend facility in-services and participate in courses necessary to maintain required CEUs.

• Act as a role model and as a resource for peers.
• Research unfamiliar diagnoses, procedures, and requests as opportunities to provide needed learning experience.
• Utilize time efficiently and effectively to meet productivity requirements of the facility.

• Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws which govern how Physical Therapists may practice and whom Physical Therapists may supervise.

• Assist with general facility and equipment maintenance duties to ensure that clinic remains safe, clean and organized.

Required Credentials

• Graduate of a CAPTA-accredited program in Physical Therapy
• Current CT Physical Therapy License required
• Experience preferred but new grads will be considered
