Strength & Conditioning Coach – Hockey Specialism 
OrthoArizona is seeking to become the leader in the field of comprehensive Musculo-skeletal training and treatment provision for athletes and Youth Sports. With multiple facilities distributed across the Greater Phoenix region, we are best placed to provide premier levels of coaching to individuals, teams, and communities towards achieving higher levels of performance. As we develop and expand, we will be pioneering in leveraging evidence-informed practice across training, movement, and sports / medical science to lead the field in athlete development & return to performance from injury. 
We are looking for a Performance specialist (strength and conditioning coach) to join our growing team and deliver our Performance programs under the guidance of our Director of Athletic Performance. We are seeking for an energetic team player, preferably with experience in Hockey strength & conditioning to join our integrated delivery team. This position will have a focus on developing hockey-specific programs for our partner clubs, as well as working with other sports & advanced rehabilitation within our customer base. 
This is a full-time position with benefits that will be based within the Chandler Ice Den facility (as well as working collaboratively with other rink-based programs). The salary will be commensurate with the experience of the successful applicant. 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Coach and assist athletes in a safe, legal, moral, ethical manner to achieve their goals. 
  • Conduct on-site assessments, deliver updated training plans and/or re-evaluate processes as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. 
  • Build the developmentally appropriate Hockey program for male and female players to deliver against the periodized objectives for the clubs and individual players who train at our facilities and with our staff. 
  • Contribute to the development of the Organizations Athletic Performance program, in conjunction with the OrthoArizona performance network, to provide consistent high-level training and injury prevention training throughout the Phoenix area. 
  • Have a deep understanding of athlete performance programing with soccer, with experience of other sports to include, but not limited to soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, baseball, golf, lacrosse, Ice-dance, swimming. 
  • Work with the in-house physical therapy team to transfer higher level physical therapy patients to performance training after discharge from formal therapy to continue progression along the continuum of care/return to sport. 
  • Build performance program through quality delivery and outreach, adding local youth sports teams and individual athletes to the athletic performance training customer base. Understands developmentally appropriate training processes. 
  • Creative, detailed thinker capable of bridging the gap from Physical Therapy to performance and progressing clients to reach their performance goals. 
  • Participate in program planning and development, as well as design and/evaluation. 
  • Participate in staff education covering all aspects of OrthoArizona programs. 
  • Maintain professional credentials as required including attending necessary continuing education courses. 
  • Some travel may be required.

Experience and Qualifications: 
  • 2-5 years of experience in sports performance training. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science or equivalent program. 
  • NSCA- CSCS (or equivalent) licensed (or the ability to achieve this within 6 months). Other industry qualifications may be accepted.
