Job Summary: 

Altumint is seeking an experienced Diesel Generator Technician to assist in all aspects of generator maintenance, troubleshooting, rehabilitating/refurbishing, and repair work. Your primary duty will be to keep a fleet of automated generator/battery bank mobile trailers operating at peak efficiency. The position will be about 70% in the field and about 30% in our shop/warehouse.

Travel Requirements:

• Must be willing to travel to other states to work on diesel trailer units.
• 10 – 35% of Travel per year.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot engine problems on systems that are at various warehouses
• Trouble shoot electrical problems on the site and on systems in inventory
• Trouble shoot electrical problems on the site
• Knowledge of automated engine control units (ECU’s)
• Travel to conduct service work, service truck provided
• Trouble shoot generator engine issues
• Fills out appropriate maintenance forms and prepares for following days operations.
• Assists with various maintenance actions as required by the Site Manager

Qualifications

• Technical or advance degree in diesel repair or,
• At least 5 years of generator mechanical experience
• Experience with single and 3 phase generator power
• Ability to work independently and in a small team environment
• Proficiency in the use of shop tools required
• A valid driver’s license is required with good driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Generator Technician Certificate
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred (i.e. Generac, Yanmar Kohler, Briggs and Cummins)
• Any gas & diesel certificate is a bonus
