Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Interventional Radiology Nurse works closely with the assigned radiologist and technologists to provide hands-on care to patients of all ages, before, during and after radiology procedures and imaging. Within that role, the Interventional Radiology Nurse performs all steps of the nursing process including assessing patients, interpreting data, planning, implementing, evaluating care, coordinating care with other providers, and teaching the patient and family how to manage aftercare to prevent complications. The Interventional Radiology Nurse partners with the patient's family wherever possible, considering all aspects of care, to deliver family centered care.

Lifting Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds, transferring, repositioning patients, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching for patient care functions.
The job may involve radiation exposure. As a result, wearing lead protective gear and a radiation dosimeter is required in some procedural areas.
