Full Time Opportunities Available!

  • Monday - Friday (shifts between 7am-4pm, 8:30am-5pm, 9am-5:30pm, 1-2 weeknights required), Weekend rotation

We're filling for multiple locations across Long Island!

  • Full Time: Garden City, Merrick and Lynbrook
  • Per Diem: Urgent Care in Merrick (5p-8p and weekend availability)

*MA Certification is a plus!

**2 Years Practice Technician experience is a plus!

Responsibilities include:

  • Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
  • Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout.
  • Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
  • Collaborates with members of the health care team in coordinating and implementing plans for patient care.
  • Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart (presenting x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies pertaining to the patient's exam).
  • Prepares patients charts by recording reason for visit and related patient information for practitioner review; may refer to last progress notes.
  • Records vitals as per Physician's request.
  • Assist with examinations and treatment of patients.
  • Handles instruments and materials to doctors as directed.
  • Adheres to infection control standards including, but not limited to, hand hygiene, use of PPE, and equipment disinfection/sterilization.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and materials; stocks assigned rooms.
  • Requesting reports and results from referring doctors and laboratories.
  • Prepare labels and requisitions for laboratory testing.
  • Responsible for writing out prescriptions for tests, physical therapy.
  • Preparing disability forms, work/school notes, surgery packets and surgical authorizations.
  • Performs variety of other clerical functions such as filing medical records, answering phones, scheduling appoints; and assuring efficient flow of patients through the suite, etc.

Candidate Requirements:

  • CPR certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the medical field; orthopedic experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes preferred
  • Must have knowledge and follow O.S.H.A. standards.
  • General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.
  • Must be able to handle a busy work environment
  • Excellent communication, organizations, and prioritization skills
  • Possess the strong ability to interact professionally and courteously with patients, staff including physicians and PAs, vendors, and other members of our community
