Barton Academy & Graded School is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic Kindergarten Teacher beginning in the 2024 - 2025 academic year. This position may be single grade or combined grades, based on the needs. Standards-based curricula, guided reading and literature-based instruction, and thematic units create the structure of our elementary instructional program. There is strong technology integration and on-going vertical teaming to ensure an interesting learning progression for all students. A strong assessment plan is critical to measures student progress and guide instruction throughout the year; we will be revising our current plan to better meet our instructional needs. We are looking for the ideal candidates to join our collaborative elementary teams in support of all students’ learning, as well as their own professional growth.Specific Responsibilities:•Implement curricula to meet academic and 21st century standards;•Ensure student mastery of academic and behavioral standards;•Design and implement a variety of assessments to identify student needs and to measure student progress;•Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;•Participate in curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;•Provide high and consistent academic and behavioral expectations for all students;•Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues in support of student learning; •Actively participate in on going embedded professional development and professional learning communities.
