Busy cardiology practice located in the East Orlando area is currently hiring an enthusiastic, motivated, knowledgeable, independent, experienced Cardiology Procedure Coordinator.

*MUST POSSESS AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF CARDIOLOGY CATH LAB PROCEDURE COORDINATOR EXPERIENCE*

Referral Coordinator Job Duties are but not limited to:

Main Duties are but are not limited to:

  • ICD 10 and CPT code knowledge
  • Submit, Process, and obtain authorizations and referrals for cardiac cath lab procedures
  • Establishes proper and effective communication with all physicians, medical staff, managers, and facilities to obtain authorizations and/or referrals in a timely matter.
  • Must prepare and maintain an organized balance of all referrals/ Authorizations needed for all patients
  • Maintain open and effective communication skills with all other practices referral coordinator to obtain authorizations promptly
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures; reporting compliance issues.* Maintains quality results by following standards.
  • Protects practice's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Serves and protects the facility's community by adhering to professional standards, facility's policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and job standards.
  • Enhances billing/medical department by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information.

  • Assemble information concerning the patient's clinical background and referral needs. Per referral guidelines, provide appropriate clinical information to specialists.
  • Contact review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met. Present necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, and prognosis. Provide specific medical information to financial services to maximize reimbursement to the hospital and physicians.
  • Review details and expectations about the referral with patients.
  • Assist patients in problem-solving potential issues related to the health care system, financial or social barriers (e.g., request interpreters as appropriate, transportation services, or prescription assistance).
  • Be the system navigator and point of contact for patients and families, with patients and families having direct access to asking questions and raising concerns. May assume advocate role on the patient's behalf with the carrier to ensure approval of the necessary supplies/services for the patient in a timely fashion
  • Ensure that patient's primary care chart is up to date with information on specialist consults, hospitalizations, ER visits, and community organization related to their health.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, sometimes combined with medical assistant certification • Strong customer service focus

  • Able to take and follow through with delegated tasks and accountability

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
