Sanitation Manager - Days

Supervise and coordinate plant sanitation to ensure compliance with company, local, state and federal regulatory guidelines. Exercise direct supervision of 10-20 employees in the Sanitation department. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Must have a good understanding of sanitation procedures performed in a food manufacturing facility. Must have a good understanding of sanitary design for food manufacturing facilities. Must have good communication skills.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Immediately report to maintenance any malfunctioning equipment.
Report to maintenance any machine guards, which are not properly secured, or missing.
Accident and safety reporting in a timely fashion, i.e. 24 hours in accordance with OBC incident reporting policy.
Manage the daily job functions of all subordinates so as to ensure that job functions are completed in predetermined timely fashion and still maintained of the highest standards. May need to assist with floor cleaning from time to time.
Assist in the discipline of personnel in an acceptable manner, following company, union and government rules and regulations.
Training and recommendations for advancement of immediate subordinates.
Attend and participate in posted company meetings.
Assist in the performance reviews of subordinates.
Manage the scheduling of the workweek of subordinates within the sanitation department according to acceptable company and union guidelines.
Manage the scheduling of vacations and days off of personnel in your area of responsibility so as to not diminish coverage for an acceptable sanitation crew and still uphold the company’s standard for sanitation.
Assist in the management of medical documentation of all affected personnel within your direct responsibility while following HIPPA guidelines.
Assist in the monitoring the company attendance Control Policy for assigned personnel.
Responsible sanitation department which is in compliance with company, union, city, state, and federal guidelines.
Adhere to and maintain OSHA standards, GMP’s, Safety and HAACP policy.
Cooperation with other company supervisors.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

A 4-year degree in business management or a related field from an accredited college or university is helpful but not required
A degree from a baking trade school such as the American Institute of Baking is helpful but not required. 3-5 years baking manufacturing experience is a must.
Mandatory 3 years, Supervisory experience including 1 years in sanitation or food safety.

Language Skills:

English
Bilingual a plus

Mathematical Skills:

Basic math

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office
Paycor application experience helpful but not required

Physical Demands:

Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Some bending, stooping and climbing of a ladder is required
Able to work both indoors and outdoors

Work Environment:

Hot, at times exceeding 110°F Cold, at times below 0°F
Moderate noise
Flour, Oil and Dust
