Length of Contract: 12 months (renewable)
Hourly Pay Rate: $51-54/hr (employee benefits available at a cost)
Job Description:
Orion Group is seeking a highly motivated scientist to work in Worcester, MA for our global pharmaceutical manufacturing client's R&D Team. This team is working on isolation & characterization of human blood cells. This will be an onsite position and will involve laboratory benchwork.
The Scientist II will request donor samples, isolate cells from human or monkey peripheral blood, set up cultures with isolated cells, perform cell stimulation or differentiation by test compounds, harvest cells and supernatants, prepare these samples for further analysis; run ELISA tests to study effector function of compounds; analyze and present the data generated by these experiments.
Education Required:
Bachelor's or Master's graduate with 3-5 years biochemistry lab experience
Top skills:
- Must have primary cell isolation and cell culture experience
- Must have ELISA experience
- Flow cytometry - highly desirable
- Basic lab techniques, pipetting samples, dealing with cells, cleanliness
- 30 Minute Phone Interview with sponsor
- 2 hour Onsite interview - group interview
