Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Release Manager to oversee the seamless deployment of software releases while ensuring efficient communication and coordination with offshore teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in release management, queue management, and process improvements within a dynamic software development environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with Offshore Teams: Act as the primary point of contact for offshore teams, ensuring clear communication channels and effective collaboration throughout the release process.
  • Queue Management: Manage release queues, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources efficiently to meet project deadlines and organizational objectives.
  • Release Management: Oversee the end-to-end release process, including planning, scheduling, coordinating, and deploying software releases while minimizing disruptions to production environments.
  • Onboarding Documents: Develop and maintain onboarding documents and materials for new team members, providing comprehensive guidance on release management processes and procedures.
  • Run Book Development: Create and update run books to document release procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for maintaining system stability during and after deployments.
  • User Guides: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop user guides and documentation for new software releases, ensuring that end-users can effectively utilize new features and functionalities.
  • Training Material: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for internal teams on release management processes, tools, and methodologies to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Process Improvements: Identify areas for process improvements within the release management workflow, implement best practices, and streamline procedures to enhance the speed, quality, and reliability of software deployments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in release management, preferably in a software development or IT operations environment.
  • Proven experience in liaising with offshore teams and managing distributed release processes.
  • Strong understanding of release management best practices, tools, and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience in developing documentation, run books, user guides, and training materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement changes to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
