Job Description

Our Company's Global Procurement & Supplier Management (GPSM) Organization partners with the business to develop and execute direct and indirect sourcing strategies, enabled by agile business processes and strong supplier performance management, to drive improved business outcomes. We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director, US Commercial, Marketing, Warehouse & Distribution Procurement Associated director will report to the Director, US Commercial Lead overseeing Commercial Operations inclusive of Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehousing services. The role will be responsible and accountable for the categories of Warehouse & Distribution and Marketing related activities. Specifically, this will involve:

  • Category Leadership for the categories listed above in the US market and tied to the overall Global strategy.

  • Establishing and leading cross-functional teams of GPSM Leads, Stakeholders, and Business Partners through Sourcing Management as a structured process to develop and deliver procurement strategies that create real value for the organization.

  • Delivery of breakthrough results in savings and other departmental objectives, such as attaining supplier diversity targets.

  • Demonstrating an Innovative mindset with category and sourcing activities. Driving strong procurement results while assisting in transforming US Market operations and strategy.

  • Leadership of Supplier Performance Management, Category Strategy Development and Management, Project Portfolio Development, and Savings Management.

  • Stakeholder Alignment and Management – ensuring buy-in for initiatives, developing and supporting stakeholder initiatives, supporting the profit planning process, and facilitating the achievement of business goals.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Category Management – Direct responsibility and accountability for category and suppliers in the categories listed above globally.

  • Sourcing Management – Use Sourcing Management as a structured process, creating and leading cross-functional teams or overseeing the execution of sourcing initiatives.

  • Strategy Creation and Management – Work with cross-functional teams to create breakthrough strategies that deliver both quick wins and genuine innovative breakthroughs.

  • Sourcing and Contracting –Oversee the delivery of sourcing initiatives including RFI, RFP, negotiations, and contracting by the central teams to put in place the right suppliers.

  • Strategy Implementation – Personally and proactively manage all aspects of implementation, including entry and exit of suppliers and the ensuing complex change management issues.

  • Supplier Development and Performance Management - Build relationships and manage key supplier performance against business requirements using proven processes to drive the realization of the full value of the key relationships. Also focused on compliance tracker and risk mitigation processes.

  • Continuous Improvement – Ensure that supplier relationships are set up for future continuous improvement and to lead review processes that ensure delivery of ongoing improvement.

  • Stakeholder Management and Business Sponsorship – Work in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders using problem-solving and proactive communication skills.

  • Business Requirements – Build a keen insight and understanding of business requirements on a 1-3-5-year horizon.

  • Results and Performance – The candidate will be a high-quality achiever, who gets the right things done, in the right way.

  • Market Knowledge, Insight, and Subject Matter Expertise - Use thorough market knowledge and data analysis to gain critical insights that drive the selection of sourcing strategies and continuous improvement activities. Actively participate in relevant industry conferences and events. Provide guidance, counsel, and leadership to the team and wider organization in matters related to the categories under management. The selected candidate will be an individual contributor across the categories and activities they are responsible for.

  • Project and Change Management - High-quality project and program management skills and a proven ability to manage change both internal and external through to successful completion.

  • Proactive Cost Management- Achieve cost control, cost reduction, and cost containment targets, and add value to the area of expenditure through a strong Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) orientation and process management.

  • Performance - Deliver ongoing savings, as required, as well as meet the stakeholder's business requirements.

  • Diversity - Actively participate in achieving the organization's supplier diversity goals Candidate will partner with procurement centers of excellence. These teams will assist with sourcing, contracting, and strategy efforts as initiatives are identified by the Associate Director.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree

  • Preferred: MBA or advanced degree and/or relevant certifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10 or more years in Strategic Procurement; with emphasis on Marketing, Warehousing, and logistics category experience.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Proven success in developing and executing regional sourcing strategies and partnering with global team members to leverage global strategies.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills at senior levels.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with a wide variety of individuals, including senior management, stakeholders, team members, other departments, and suppliers.

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong Market Knowledge.

  • English language fluency.

  • Understanding of buying tools such as COUPA and SAP.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Project Management skills.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Analytical - Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze large complex data sets to derive relevant intelligence in developing sourcing strategies or supporting negotiations.
