Reports To : Facilities & Maintenance Manager
Schedule : Monday to Friday
Two to four hours per day; work hours vary due to emergencies and seasonal or operational demands
Up to 185 days annually
Qualifications
Must comply with the license requirements of the State of Oregon and enjoy working with young people.
Must have or be able to obtain a type 20 driver's license (ability to drive a shuttle bus with 14 passengers)
Must have or be able to obtain an Oregon School Bus Driver's License; preference given to those with a current license
Applicants must know or be willing to learn the information contained in such publications as Oregon School Bus Driver's Manual, Emergency Procedures for School Bus Drivers, and Oregon State Board of Education's Regulations Governing Pupils Riding School Buse.

Bus Driver Job Functions
Driving a school bus on an assigned route in all weather conditions; communicating safety hazards that may exist or occur along the route as necessary with Dispatcher
Loading and unloading students at specific stops on an established time schedule. Keeping to an assigned schedule. In the event of a delay, notify the direct supervisor
Providing students with a safe and nurturing environment on the bus
Conducting vehicle pre and post-trip inspection as prescribed by law
Completing forms and reports as assigned, i.e., driving hours, student counts, bus stop times, trip sheets, and mileage reports
Maintaining a bus provides a safe and hygienic atmosphere, inside and out. Bus swept after each route, and trash was emptied weekly.
The Dash area and interior are kept free of debris
Driving a bus on special trips outside or inside the District
Maintaining discipline on the bus and reporting discipline problems to appropriate staff
Maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Performing related duties consistent with job description and assignment, e.g., Bus evacuation drills. Performs other duties as assigned by the District
Attend all classes and participates in all training required by RPA and Oregon Dept. of Ed
In addition to regular daily transportation of students, this position requires deliveries of technology & school supplies to students' homes.
Deliveries are irregular and may frequently happen at the beginning and end of the school year
Additional Driving is required for field trips that happen periodically outside of regular hours
Physical Requirements : The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for prolonged periods.The employee must regularly be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
