This position promotes continuous improvement in student learning by facilitating training, providing professional development and ensuring appropriate placement and implementation of interventions for students identified needing Tier II and Tier III interventions. This position provides Tier III interventions for small group instruction with students K-6.
Physical ability to adhere to OSHA and district safety regulations. Work within the district’s communicable disease control plan (blood borne pathogens) and be aware of the existence and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals as identified on the SDS sheets. Responsibilities include student safety and security.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Necessarily Limited To)
Participates in/facilitates data analysis meetings to determine student placement in appropriate interventions
Monitors student progress, maintains records, and communicates with parents, teachers, and administrators
Provides training and professional development promoting continuous improvement in student learning
Assists teachers in the use of assessment data to guide and differentiate instruction
Prepares and delivers lessons for Tier III intervention instruction
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to work collaboratively with groups of parents, teachers, and students
Demonstrates the ability to make appropriate recommendations to teachers based upon collected data
Effective in communication, planning, organization, presentation, and leadership skills
Ability to plan and present professional development for other adults
Understands and interprets assessment data to inform instructional decisions
Expertise in effective instruction, assessments, and interventions
Ability to work effectively and efficiently without constant supervision
Supervise and support paraprofessionals in a positive way
Implement classroom procedures that foster management of student behaviors while maintaining respect and rapport
Supervise students and assist in maintaining a safe environment at all times
Grow and develop professionally to ensure current methodologies are being used and professionalism is demonstrated
Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to a student, family, colleague, or district patron
Maintain professional boundaries with students, including use of appropriate language, appropriate physical contact and the use of technology such as email, text messages, or social networking internet sites
Effectively us technology including internet, email, and electronic communications to enhance instruction and student learning
Follow all District and supervisor policies and directives
Comply with applicable state, local and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Adhere to all standards established by Teachers Standards and Practices Commissions (TSPC) for the Competent and Ethical Educator
Adhere to all Oregon Administrative Rules, related to licensed educators inclusive of Mandatory reporting
Maintain appropriate licenses and training hours as required to implement this position
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
