Oregon Metal Fabrication is Hiring a Material Handler Near Sandy, OR
We are an established metal fabrication company that provides on-time, precise work. We specializes in industrial, structural, and commercial fabrication, with some occasional custom work to keep things interesting. The shop is a fast pace work environment, and we are seeking someone that can help keep the moving pieces organized.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual that not only works well with others, but also by themselves. Material Handlers need to be organized, and create efficiency through planning ahead.
The Perfect Candidate will...
Show up to work with a good attitude on time every day to perform tasks at hand. Be honest, trustworthy, manage time well, and be flexible as the days evolve and job requirements change. Be willing to learn new skills, and able to complete errands, deliveries, and assist fabricators around the shop. If there isn't material that needs moved, staged, delivered, or bundled - there are opportunities to learn new skills and create more value.
General skills & responsibilities needed:
- Operate forklifts
- Maintain lot organization
- Identify materials by type and organize according to jobs
- Stage material for machine operations
- Stage and organize job carts for fabrication
- Deliver materials and components
- Driving with a trailer
- Safely loading, securing, and unloading materials/parts on and off trucks
- Metal fabrication Assistance (experience is a plus)
- Operating hand tools (grinder, drill, impact gun, etc.)
- General math skills
- Reading a tape measure
- Operating saw
