Position Highlights
The Multnomah County Circuit Court is hiring a Criminal Arraignments Specialist (Court Operations Specialist).
In this role, you will respond to complex questions from court staff, public and private sector agencies, and the public about criminal arraignments. You will create business process documents, templates, and forms for all aspects of the criminal arraignment functionalities and ensure that they are updated to reflect recent legislative changes. You will also train and provide guidance to courtroom clerks and evaluate their performance for compliance and effectiveness.
Additionally, you will enter complex data into the court’s case management system. You will review recordings and court documents for accuracy. You will schedule hearings, enter dispositions, and process filings and other paperwork for criminal and contempt cases. You will also schedule transports for in-custody defendants and process speedy trial requests. In the courtroom, you will perform real-time data entry of proceedings and generate court documents. You will coordinate remote hearing proceedings, schedule complex court dockets and other appearances, provide guidance for making corrections, and handle confidential and sensitive information.
You will provide customer service in person, over the phone, and by email to help judges, OJD staff, members of the public, community partners, stakeholders, volunteers, public and private agencies, other state agencies, litigants, defendants, and program participants.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position.

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Parking
Multnomah Circuit Court does not provide parking for courthouse or justice center staff. Flexible spending accounts are available to reimburse parking or transportation costs up to a certain amount each month, if staff elect to have these funds held from their monthly paycheck.
Criminal Background Check
You will be subject to a criminal background check if you are a finalist. Adverse results are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may result in disqualification if the circumstances are directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position.
