The Shree lab is working to understand how cancer influences the immune system and how we can use this knowledge to develop better cancer treatments. We have exciting projects combining cancer biology and immunology, and work in a collaborative environment with many fantastic scientists and clinicians. Dr. Shree is looking for a Senior Research Assistant to provide technical and scientific expertise and contribute to lab administrative and organization functions. Dr. Shree aims to foster a friendly and inclusive work environment with collaborative goal-setting and problem-solving and opportunities for fun inside and outside the lab.
As a Senior Research Assistant, you will be part of a collaborative team working on translational research projects. Under general supervision you will support the research group by maintaining and organizing the laboratory space and supplies, providing administrative support, conducting experiments and providing assistance and guidance to junior lab members as needed.
Responsibilities include working on cellular and molecular biology experiments, processing patient samples, assisting in experimental design, and organizing samples, datasets and studies.
There will be opportunities for direct involvement in research projects, including ownership of projects, as needed or desired. You will use innovation and problem solving and help design experiments and procedures to achieve project objectives.
You will have a detailed knowledge of all aspects of laboratory research, and you will be comfortable working both individually and in highly collaborative teams. You will possess good organizational and interpersonal skills, and will be assigned to projects, as needed. You will be a highly motivated and flexible person experienced in aspects of the research laboratory.
Education and exprience:
Bachelor's in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR;
Equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
You must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for H-1B temporary work visa.
