Summary:

A Repair and Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs to company buildings, including labor housing, storage sheds, barns, and rental units. A Repair and Maintenance Technician assists the Building Maintenance Manager in the remodeling of existing buildings and the construction of new labor housing. Repair and Maintenance Technicians report to the Building Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on buildings such as repairing structural damage, replacing doorknobs and locks, replacing broken windows & doors, minor roof repairs, cleaning gutters, etc. Repair & maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in company buildings. As directed by the Building Maintenance Manager, respond to reports of mechanical or maintenance issues in labor housing. Identify and repair safety hazards.
• Assist in remodeling & new construction projects, completing projects such as flooring installation (to include tile work), framing, drywall installation, insulation, painting, and finishing work.
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude: basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical, systems
• Basic knowledge of construction and building maintenance
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tool operation
• Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and or situations

Working Conditions:

• Approximately 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday (except Holiday Closures). During Harvest season must be available to work weekends as needed
• Overtime must be pre-approved by your direct supervisor
• Possible overtime work (10 hours) in a week only during harvest season (June-August)

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift objects of up to 75 lbs.
• Required to climb ladders from time to time
• May assist in moving heavy materials in difficult work positions
• Ability to work extended hours a needed
