Position Title: Elementary Principal (Grades K-1)

Department: Orchard View Early Elementary

Reports To: Superintendent

Hours: Fulltime Salary Position with Benefits

Begins July 1 – June 30 (43 week school year assignment)

Compensation: Commensurate with Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or equivalent (as determined by employer)
• Administrative Certification or committed to enrolling in a state approved program leading to certification
• Prior experience as a building administrator preferred
• Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
• Demonstrated ability as an educational leader through:

Excellent communication skills

Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to plan, organize and execute the full range of administrative tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Participation on TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) Team.
• Leads the operation of the school in compliance with the Board of Education policy and the direction of the superintendent
• Provides leadership in the establishment of a positive building climate for the staff, students, parents and community.
• Supervises professional and support staff assigned to the building
• Works with the Director of Curriculum in alignment of curriculum to state standards
• Observes and evaluates the performance of building staff members
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility, efficient and effective utilization of resources and the proper accountability for revenues and expenditures.
• Participates in staff interviews and hiring procedures
• Ensures that required and desired professional development opportunities are provided for staff
• Attends district-wide and building activities as required (includes evenings and weekends)
• Helps establish and facilitate MISS processes.
