Orchard Hospital Emergency Room seeking an exemplary Emergency Medicine mid-level practitioner is nurse practitioner (NP) who practices medicine under the supervision of Orchard Hospital Hospitalist physicians. One to three years of Emergency Medicine experience required.

Salary Range $75 - $90 / hr

Summary/Objective:

Under the supervision and direction of the Hospitalist Physician, Department of Emergency Medicine, the Midlevel Nurse Practitioners (NP) is responsible for the care of emergency department patients under the direction of the attending hospitalist physician and in accordance with the rules and regulations of California governing Nurse Practitioners. The NP will obtain patient histories, perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission, perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, coordinate tests and consultations, implement treatment plans, communicate with referring and consulting physicians, perform patient education, and prepare patients for discharge. The NP assumes responsibility for adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department, in conjunction with emergency medicine staff. Includes ongoing evaluation and care of patients, rounds with staff, and sign out of patients at shift change.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in Medicine or Nursing. Nurse Practitioners must be graduates of an accredited college or training program.
• Experience working as a mid-level practitioner in an ED preferred.
• Current license from the State of California.
• Nurse Practitioners must be certified in accordance with requirements of the Nursing Board and applicable regulations of the Board of Registered Nurses.
• Current BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certification required.
• At least 2 years of experience working as an RN
• Previous NP/PA work in ED preferred
