Orbit Healthcare is a fast-growing fulfillment and transportation company seeking to add to its team of supply chain experts.

Job Hours:

• Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7:30am, Rotating on call coverage in the evenings and weekends.
• Remote
• Required to travel to other areas to assist with route coverage if needed

Job Activities

• Check Proof of Delivery (“POD”), pieces, and verify jobs in company’s dispatch technology
• Receive calls from customers and dispatch Contractors for pick-up’s and deliveries
• Prioritize multiple calls according to urgency and importance
• Monitor routes and status of Contractors to coordinate and prioritize their activities
• Provide Contractors with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
• Plan and execute customer deliveries via dispatch software
• Proactively communicate with customers to maintain excellent customer satisfaction
• Crosstrain on routes and provide backup coverage for Contractors when needed
• The Dispatcher will be located in the Charlottesville warehouse. The Dispatcher will need to cross-train on warehouse functions and operations in order to support when needed.

Skills & Requirements

• Communication Skills: The Dispatcher needs to have strong communication skills and be able to clearly speak to and listen to Contractors on the phone.
• Multitasking: The Dispatcher will need to be able to coordinate and work with multiple drivers at the same time. Requests for orders may arrive via telephone or email and the ability to dispatch work in a controlled and methodical process is necessary.
• Problem-Solving Skills: There will be instances when the Dispatcher needs to prioritize calls and jobs to meet customer’s needs. Dispatcher will need to have an awareness of drive times and specific customer requirements to accurately dispatcher Contractors and meet our customer’s needs.

What you need to succeed at Orbit – at a minimum, you’ll need:

• Be 21 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in billing, warehousing, or dispatch operations
• Experience in data entry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to learn new computer applications
• Fluency in English
• Be able to lift, pull, move, and carry as much as 50 pounds
• Pass a drug screen and background check
• Have their driving record reviewed through a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Vaccinations & Medical Tests

• Provide proof of COVD-19 vaccination
• Pass a tuberculosis test (due to the medical / hospital nature of the work)
• Receive an annual Influenza (“Flu”) vaccination
• Be vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (“MMR”)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
