Job PurposeThe Paraprofessional provides support to a student so that they can access their educational environment, remain safe in the school setting, and socially access relationships with peers and adults. Operates as a direct care staff member and is directly accountable for the consistent implementation of the interventions as identified through the behavior support plan (BSP).Works closely with other staff to ensure that the student is able to achieve the behavior goals set forth in the BSP.Performance Responsibilities

• Work with an individual student as defined by the Principal.
• Maintain strict confidentiality with all student records and associated materials (i.e.: IEPs, 504 Plans).
• Work cooperatively with the classroom teachers, special educators, and related services staff.
• Follow classroom behavior expectations.Regularly consult with student's school team to convey successes, challenges, and necessary changes to student programming.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Principal or designee.

In addition: Directly implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans as written in Behavior Support Plan (BSP) consistently.Conduct student behavior assessments or assist in student assessments that have been designed by the supervising practitioner (BCBA, School Psychologist, Special Educator, etc), when directed to do so.Collect accurate data for all behavior programs which is then to be given to the practitioner for analysis.Serve in a direct support role and consult the practitioner regularly for additional support.Meet regularly with the student's team to address any program changes, further training and/or supervision.Adjust interventions or methods as guided.Be responsible for maintaining thorough knowledge and understanding of each intervention in place for every individual on his/her caseload at all times.Regularly review support plans for all individuals to ensure treatment integrity.
