JOB PURPOSE:
The Vice President of Operations is responsible to lead and motivate the Operations management teams to contribute to the profitable growth of the company through the development and execution of strategies and initiatives that improve the organizations competitive position. This Leader will provide the Area management team with strategic direction in partnership with the Executive Management for all Operational & Financial execution. Position is responsible for ensuring all stores operate within company's guidelines while exceeding sales and profitability objectives established during the budgeting process. As a Leader, the VP of Operations demonstrates a strong command of the company's culture through the support and development of their Operational management team.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Provides effective leadership by directing, inspiring and supporting Area managers to drive performance in support of the companys vision to create an organization dedicated to customer service, innovation, effectiveness, and safety.
2. Collaborates with senior management and business partners to execute operational strategies to drive the business, including budget performance on operations and production as well as development of operational forecasting.
3. Leads Operational management teams in the achievement of all KPIs including those related to inventory, safety, productivity, quality, maintenance, continuous improvement, team member engagement, and environmental control.
4. Ensures operations teams and locations meet operational expense budgets and seek efficiency improvements.
5. Gathers and organizes information using a logical and systematic process; recognizes patterns and relationships in complex data; examines data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; and generates alternative solutions to problems.
6. Identifies opportunities to achieve or exceed goals that: reduce product costs, enhance margins, and improve production efficiencies. Acts in the best interest of the business, utilizing sound financial/business decision making.
7. Responsible to implement strategies, solutions and initiatives to increase productivity, improve service and decrease costs.
8. Control performance and effectiveness of operational aspects in all areas of responsibility to include P/L.
9. Exemplifies integrity and a disciplined approach in providing communication and coaching to achieve the businesses operational and financial objectives, targets, and results.
10. Offers guidance to promote continuous improvement efforts to deliver highest levels of operational execution and guest service. Establishes challenging, realistic, and obtainable goals to guide operations and performance.
11. Clearly and concisely communicates area and business objectives to Operational management teams to ensure they are well informed of business activity and their requirements. Manages relationships to support areas of improvement by serving as a coach and mentor to improve their knowledge and/or skills.
12. Duty to communicate/report issues or concerns to Executive management and other appropriate parties promptly.
13. Establish and oversee commitment to performance standards of operations management team members at all levels with a focus on succession planning and professional development. Provide ongoing formal and informal performance feedback.
14. Understands market dynamics, business trends, and assesses to identify financial implications to develop strategies and plans to align targets and goals to drive business results, both operationally and financially. This includes continuous assessment of competitor activity and local market conditions.
15. Promotes company vision, culture, and brand to support a unified operations team and Best Place to Work atmosphere.
16. Exhibits a high level of integrity in compliance for rules and regulations from both the company and all regulatory agencies. Ensures all issues are handled in a professional manner and programs are established to deliver ongoing compliance.
17. Ability to work well under pressure and proactively implement any/all corrective actions or measures necessary to safeguard the business.
18. Required to work varied hours, weekends, and all holidays. Holidays are black out days as they are considered peak periods for the business, and are subject to change based on business needs (calendar available upon request)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of ten years of previous food service and restaurant supervisory experience.
Mandatory to have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance.
Strong working knowledge of store operations and management principles including cost control, continuous improvement, and inventory control policies.
Must have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
Intermediate level computer skills (POS, Microsoft Office)
