A & RHospitality Group is looking for a Regional Director of Operations that can lead, mentor,manage and guide multiple select service hotels and a diverse team of associates.

The purpose of the Regional Director of Operations position is to motivate, coach anddevelop their staff; actively participate in creating and implementing theannual Business Plan; monitor and ensure outstanding operating results; andparticipate in developing and managing revenue and sales strategies.
We are in search of qualified candidates who can excel at the following:
General Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that each A&R hotel is maximizing the Guestand Associate experience.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with A&R's hoteloperating policies and procedures (Operations Manual).
  • Motivate, coach and train A&R GeneralManager team members in assigned region, set goals and hold GM team membersaccountable, and provide appropriate feedback, rewards, and recognition.
  • Hold General Managers effectively accountable formanaging and motivating associates and achieving overall financial results,guest, and associate satisfaction while meeting all required brand standards.
  • Ensure proper, appropriate and timely operationsreporting and record keeping both at the A&R hotels ( G:Drive or Intranet atthe corporate office.
  • Ensure development, implementation and supportsuccessful attainment of each A&R assigned hotel's annual Business Plan.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity,take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promotecollaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensuredevelopment of, and adherence to, A&R's hotel operations policies,protocols and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Interview, select, hire, onboardtransition direct reports while providing timely direction on everyone'sperformance.
  • Conduct monthly P&L review with eachhotel General Manager to ensure proper fiscal governance is being adhered toand provide corrective action as needed.
  • Support the process of development, with the activeparticipation of the assigned A&R General Managers and the corporate teamleaders, the annual Business Plan for each hotel.
  • Ensure implementation of A&R's approved BusinessPlan for each assigned hotel.
  • Ensure Operations within A&R's approved budget foreach assigned hotel.
  • Monitoroperating results and benchmark against budgets, other A&R peer hotels aswell as brand and comp set performance.
  • Conduct quarterly detailed property visitsand property review (with greater frequency if warranted) to measure thegeneral manager's performance relative to A&R performance standards.
  • Provide timely (weekly) updates toleadership to better highlight key initiatives and areas of focus in portfoliohotels
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Engage with property leadership on a weekly basis toconduct thorough property assessment with emphasis on Labor controls, training,financial controls, guest and associate safety, asset management, associatesatisfaction, brand stewardship and guest experience.
  • Review HelloGM/NA Reports, Quore, Netchex, and Guestfeedback data on daily basis to ensure all hotels labor, PM and daily revenueand audit controls are in place.
  • Review property performance regarding RevenueGeneration, GSS, Culture and Expenses and take action to maximize results ineach area through coaching, training and strategic action planning, scheduling,etc., to ensure that all A&R scorecard metrics are being properly managed.
  • Manage the purchaseorder process for each hotel to ensure that all procurement meets budgetary andA&R standards. Monitor and approve/code daily/weekly invoices to ensurethat invoices are being reconciled and paid in the appreciate month.
  • Work with properties to ensure that accruals are doneprior to the close of each month when required.
  • Work with Property GM and procurement manager toensure that all vendor agreement and maturity dates are calendarized. RDO willattempt to shop ore renegotiate agreements prior to maturity/exit notice datein order to negotiate the best pricing for A&R
  • Participate in developing and managing RevenueGeneration strategy for each hotel and attend Revenue calls/meetings regularly.
  • Support the implementation of the Sales &Marketing plan for each property
  • Collaborate with Sales leader to measure productionfor each salesperson and hold each accountable for Revenue contribution foreach property based on segmentation goals.
  • Sales leadership participates in the Sales process asneeded to provide direction and support.
  • Conduct regular meetings with each assigned GeneralManager to review GM Checklist daily audit reports, daily activities andperformance outcomes.
  • Schedule and lead bi-weekly (or weekly if needed)meetings with General Managers to review key performance measures, progress andstrategic action planning designed to address areas of opportunity.
  • Regularly visit and inspect A&R hotels for A&Rand Brand Quality Assurance standards.
  • Communicate any Cap-ex needs to maintain the physicalworking condition of the property and follow-up to ensure timely completion ofprojects
  • Track A&R's performance standards for each hotel.Performance standards (not limited to) but includes:
    • Brand & A&R Quality Assurance
    • Market Share Indices (MSI)
    • Gross Operating Profit
    • Facility Management
    • Audit Report Review (daily)
    • Handling of Deposits, AR and AP accounts and invoices
    • Record keeping and reporting
    • Supplies storage, purchasing and inventory management
    • Brand & A&R Guest Satisfaction Indices (GSI)
    • A&R Associate Satisfaction Index (ASI)
  • Conduct regular and timely performance reviews of assignedGeneral Manager Team members.

Performance standards:
Performance shall be measured byachievement of the assigned A&R managed hotels' business plans, budgeted NOI, MSIIndex, Guest Satisfaction Index (GSI) and the Associate Satisfaction Index (ASI).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Business orrelated field
  • 8 years of hotel industry operations experience
  • Minimum of Five (5) year Select Service Hotel General Manager experience
  • Must be able to travel frequently (up to 75% of worklife)
  • Must sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical requirements include the abilityto exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of forceconsistently for tasks involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or movingobjects. Must be able to walk and climbstairs frequently.
