Oracle is Hiring a Senior Director User Experience - Analytics Near Seattle, WA

The Oracle Analytics team is embarking on a new mission to create a whole new breed of indispensable enterprise applications powered by analytic capabilities. You will have tremendous influence across disciplines and org divisions on how the team works, the products, and the strategy. These applications will detect problems, suggest and model solutions, and track results over time, as announced last year by our CTO and co-founder, Larry Ellison and the Executive Vice President for Analytics, T.K. Anand. As a Senior Principal designer, you will have the unique opportunity to define and validate the scenarios that will bring users critical value and create a new product category for Oracle.

You will collaborate with software development, product management, and Oracle customers to set the vision and then go build it. You will find the best ways to integrate new AI/ML models, interactive visualizations, and planning tools that turn insights into trackable actions. You will advocate for what customers really need by collaborating closely with UX research. You will clarify the right product strategy after assessing related Oracle products with their UX teams. This new class of product will break analytics out of its traditional role of retrospective reflection for specialists. These applications won’t just report data—they’ll help users manage their business. You will bring decision intelligence to improve the outcomes of everyday enterprise work.

Your team also has another growing product in the market already, so you can also contribute to human-centered information design and even the tools to administer and manage the products.

While you’re at it, you’ll be guiding the cross-functional Analytics team through application of Oracle’s award-winning, full-stack Redwood design system built to get users across hundreds of applications to fall in love with Oracle one interaction at a time.

The work you’ll do is…

Transformative, not incremental

Creating a new product category will require new foundational learning and bringing along diverse stakeholders. Delivering quickly to learn and refine in the field requires a keen eye for prioritization and future evolution, flexibility to deliver value in multiple ways, and steadfastness in maintaining the bar of user value and experience needed to succeed.

Human-led

People/customers are at the center of everything we do along with showing humanity in our approach. You will partner with customers to understand their objectives and their users’ needs. Empathize with them and envision what might make their workflows and experiences spectacularly better. Work with a researcher to conduct exploratory and evaluative sessions to identify critical needs and goals, then refine workflow, UI, and product strategy.

Superb craftmanship

You will be designing solutions from concept, wireframes, and prototypes to detailed, visually polished and scalable experiences, ready for implementation. Incorporate feedback quickly and adapt to changes in business requirements and timelines without compromising quality. Leverage the existing design style guide and system, templates, and components in order to deliver quality on time. Define the new patterns needed for the future. Own & drive the experience of our products - and experience the incredible impact that your work will have on our customers.

Bold, aspirational, exciting

We create solutions that span not just the depth and breadth of the challenges our customers face, but come from our diverse employee base, which is core to our DNA. A modern user experience is not modern if it's one-size-fits-all.

You will work closely with kind, curious and smart designers, researchers, writers, product managers, and engineers across the globe. We believe innovation starts with inclusion – everyone’s voice is heard and valued.
