This opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer within our SaaS Cloud Security team will be monumental in delivering secure services to the US government. At a glimpse, the Oracle SaaS Cloud Security (SCS) organization is responsible for securing enterprise-grade software services on behalf of our 25,000 customers, processing over 60 billion transactions per day.

The Software Engineer role at Oracle SaaS Cloud Security is a crucial position within the organization responsible for identifying and responding to security threats in the cloud environment. As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with the security operations center (SOC) team and will be developing, implementing, and handling security detection capabilities that enable the organization to detect and respond to security incidents effectively. You will combine software and systems engineering to build and integrate tools and applications that will strengthen and innovate in the security space within the meticulousSaaS cloud and infrastructure. You will play a critical role in the design, development, and execution of multiyear security strategies designed to improve the security and compliance posture of Oracle's SaaS services.

Due to the nature of this role, security clearance eligibility is required. You should also possess excellent communication skills, be meticulous, and be able to work well under pressure. Key Responsibilities:

- You will be a key member of the team in innovating, designing, and developing security automation systems for all SaaS Cloud infrastructure

- You will participate in the architecture and design of systems and use modern programming practices

- You will be bringing your experience in building, deploying, tuning, and owning distributed and resilient systems

- You will be working closely with other security engineering teams to share information, advance the team's skills, experiences and capabilities

- You will be a driver of creating a culture of quality and attention to detail at Oracle, through your dynamic leadership approach including results your team delivers, your innovation, your mentorship, and your engineering of world class security management solutions

- You will work closely with your partners and peers in security operations who use your software to carry out their security analysis and management activities

- You will influence and assist in new security solutions and process definition, in line with the scale and rate of change of a multi-application SaaS environment.

Required Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 8 years of professional experience as Software Engineer

- Experience of developing and shipping enterprise and/or cloud native services

- Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, scalable distributed systems

- Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java, C#, or similar OO languages

- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems fundamentals

- Demonstrated understanding of cloud native architecture and experience with either Azure, AWS or OCI is desired

- Experience in building and handling containerized applications, preferably with Docker

- Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery tools

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience with Elastic and one or more data storage solution 

- Experience with Terraform and Shepherd is a plus

- Experience working in security, security operations, security incident response
