Oracle is Hiring a Principal Database Engineer Near Redwood, CA

Oracle Database Engineer - Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and play a vital role in our rapid expansion and adoption of cutting-edge cloud technologies. We're actively developing scalable public cloud services, including Compute, Storage, Networking, Governance, Database, and Load Balancing Services. If you're a skilled database engineer with a passion for solving complex challenges in high-availability environments on a massive scale, we're looking for Oracle Database Engineer Specialists like you. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide all activities related to the engineering and operational management of a massively scaled Oracle database fleet
• Project long-range requirements for database management and design in conjunction with other service owners in the Oracle Cloud ecosystem
• Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data
• Design, implement, and maintain complex databases, access methods, access time, devise allocation, validation checks, organization, protection, and security
Qualifications include:
• Possess knowledge of performing detailed performance analysis, tuning, and diagnostics for Oracle 19c Databases
• Possess leadership experience to ensure appropriate changes, upgrades, and enhancements are made based on the technical analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field work
• Eight or more years of experience in Oracle Database Engineering
• Deep understanding and expertise in database management features
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work in an extremely fast paced and challenging environment
• Excellent command of written and spoken English

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design, and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in an area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others
