Position Responsibilities :

• Measuring and applying DME products to patients as directed by physicians; ensuring proper fit
• Assisting with basic casting techniques
• Educating the patient on DME product use, care, and expected clinical outcome
• Educating the patient on their insurance plan and possible financial responsibility
• Resolving patient complaints and / or problems associated with the use of the equipment after it has been placed
• Conducting pre-authorization / pre-certifications and referrals when applicable
• Ensuring all documentation guidelines are met as required by each insurance carrier
• Ordering products from approved vendors when applicable
• Managing a functional inventory, including satellite locations
• Communicating effectively and professionally with physicians
• Educating physicians and nursing staff on DME products
• Periodically reviewing DME surgical protocols with physicians
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements :

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• One year experience in medical assisting, casting, athletic training, or physical therapy assisting is helpful but not required
• Flexibility to work in both Iowa and Illinois clinics (Bettendorf, IA; Davenport, IA; Moline, IL)
• Flexibility to work additional evenings and Saturdays as needed
