$99,342-108,721

Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 20 ($69,934) and Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000) and Increased Hiring Salary ($9,408). Geographic Pay Differential is added to the job rate ($88,721) for the PS&T Grade 20.

This Registered Nurse 2 works within the framework of a treatment team providing nursing services to individuals diagnosed developmental disabilities and their caretakers/families. They visit the individual's home to identify factors in the social, psychological, and physical environment which may contribute to this individual's disability; make recommendations for emergency or continuing care; suggest alternative treatment plans; teach caretakers/family methods of dealing with emergencies; and provide advice on the availability of medical, social, and housing facilities for the individual in the community. They intervene and administer emergency treatment; engage in treatment modalities such as health teaching, individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy or milieu therapy as appropriate; work with appropriate community agencies as necessary and insure a coordinated team treatment plan. They may supervise and counsel paraprofessional and professional personnel in health-related activities and participate in the staff development and teaching program of Broome DDSOO.

· Function in the role of Registered Nurse 2.

· Participate in agency committees.

· Other duties as assigned. Caseload will include healthcare management of Individuals residing in State Operated sites (IRA’s and/or family care setting) and/or Day Habilitation nursing oversight.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be in possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. One year of this experience must have been providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.

Substitution: a bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing may substitute for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
