Optum is Hiring a Dual Licensed Therapist -(LCSW/LCMHC and LCAS) Near Durham, NC

As an Independent Licensed Mental Health and SUD Therapist you will be responsible for providing direct clinical services to patients in an in-person, clinic environment at Carolina Behavioral Care for a hybrid position in Durham, NC. This position is within our Refresh Mental Health (RMH) organization, which provides a variety of behavioral and mental health treatments, including individual and group therapy, medication management, and intensive outpatient programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders
  • Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods
  • Systematically track treatment response and monitor patients for changes in clinical symptoms and treatment side effects or complications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, independent licensure in North Carolina in one of the following areas: LCSW, LCMHC, or LMFT
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) in North Carolina
  • 1 years providing individual therapy in a clinical OP setting
  • Proven ability to work with patients in person and telehealth
  • Hybrid: onsite in Durham, NC for 3 days/week and 2 days/remote

Preferred Qualification:

  • 2 years of clinical experience treating patients with behavioral health conditions
  • Hospital based experience
  • Solid computer and basic technology skills
  • Proven ability to maintain effective and professional relationships with patient and other members of the care team
