About this position 

The recruitment and outreach assistant is a critical role in our organization, providing administrative and operational support to the recruitment and outreach manager and specialists. This position is instrumental in helping achieve the organization’s mission by assisting with recruitment, outreach, team support, and event logistics. 

The ideal candidate for this role has excellent organizational and time management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. He or she must also be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Assisting the recruitment and outreach manager and specialists in establishing relationships with community partners, identifying strategic community engagement opportunities, and elevating awareness of agency programs; 
  • Assisting with special projects related to recruitment and outreach; 
  • Supporting the recruitment and outreach manager and specialists in representing the organization at community engagement events, actively engaging with the audience, collecting inquiries, and delivering data-driven feedback to inform future participation decisions; 
  • Ensuring that supplies such as flyers, giveaways, and other items needed for outreach events are always available and working with the Communications team to order more supplies as needed; 
  • Coordinating support from teachers and staff to attend events alongside or in place of the recruitment and outreach team; 
  • Offering support for agency-wide events; 
  • Assisting the recruitment and outreach manager and specialists as needed; 
  • Performing other duties as assigned. 

What you bring to the table 

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or two years of experience in human services, social work, or related field; 
  • Appreciation for diverse constituent groups and ability to identify ways to reach them effectively; 
  • Ability to inspire a collaborative process in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects; 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; 
  • Proficiency in Office 365; 
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when needed; 
  • California driver’s license, daily use of an automobile, and current automobile liability insurance; 
  • Fluency in Spanish, Chinese, or other languages is a plus.
