About this position 

This position is responsible for assisting with the operation of Options for Learning’s Nutrition Program, which includes nutritional training and monitoring of family child care providers. We are looking for someone with an upbeat, positive attitude who is eager to support the organization’s mission and achieve its strategic goals. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Conduct home visits with family child care providers for assigned caseload/service area (mainly in San Bernardino County).
  • Managing Nutrition Program paperwork, including signups, contracts, site visit forms, licenses, provider files, and training manuals; 
  • Maintaining knowledge of Community Care Licensing regulations with specific emphasis on regulations related to family child care providers; 
  • Accurately completing all assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis according to organization policies and procedures; 
  • Following up on requests from providers for child care-related assistance; 
  • Attending licensing orientation and in-house organization meetings upon request; 
  • Read and implement all organization and program policies and procedures; 
  • Assist the senior monitor and the compliance, training, and monitoring manager as needed; 
  • Performing other related duties as assigned. 

What you bring to the table 

  • Experience and or training in children’s programs; 
  • Ability to work well with people, with sensitivity to the needs of children and families; 
  • Good organizational skills; 
  • Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively; 
  • Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese (preferred); 
  • A California driver’s license, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance.

Job specifications 

  • Reports to the compliance, training and monitoring manager; 
  • Full-time, 12-month work year; 
  • Eight-hour workday; 
  • Alternating Fridays off (every Friday off beginning July 2024); 
  • Opportunity for hybrid-work schedule may be available and to be determined by management;
  • Limited evening or weekend hours may be required; 
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at organization discretion.

  • $22.44 - $25.97 per hour
