**Job Summary:** We are seeking a dedicated Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various administrative tasks and provide support in maintaining organized records and documentation. **Duties:** - include but are not limited to:

· Greets health unit visitors

· Answers the phone and routes the call to the appropriate person.

· Screening and interviewing WIC Program applicants to determine WIC eligibility.

· Collecting applicant demographics (address, phone #, email, etc) and updating participant records in the WIC computer system.

· Schedule participant for appointments, calls participants to remind about appointments, and follows up on missed appointments.

· Plans lessons and provides direct basic nutrition education that involves teaching food preparation and cooking techniques for preservation of food nutrients at low cost.

· Educates WIC Program participants and/or primary caretakers when applicable regarding general nutrition, the purpose of the WIC Program, participation guidelines and patient rights, the rationale for specific food items in the food packages, use of the WIC EBT card and the value of breastfeeding.

· Issues food benefits to the LA WIC EBT card.

· Participates in outreach programs to educate community organizations about eligible nutrition programs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.46 per hour
