Options for Community Living, Inc. is looking for Residential Counselors to join our team! An ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Have a passion for assisting those diagnosed with mental illness. Must be a self-starter and well organized.
- Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, valid auto insurance and access to a vehicle is required.

Salary Range:
$20.00/hr. ($36,400/yr.) - $26.00/hr. ($47,320/yr.)
Salary offers will be commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
Schedules(Subject to available openings):
Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Every other weekend)
Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Every weekend)
Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Every weekend)
Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Every weekend)
Saturdays: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Every weekend)
Sundays: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Every weekend)
Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (Overnight)
Monday and Wednesday, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (Overnight)
Monday - Friday, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

- Medford
- Oakdale
- East Islip
- Huntington
Pay Type: Non-exempt
Responsibilities:
At Options for Community Living, Inc., individuals living with a mental health diagnosis live, learn, and develop their potential in an environment that respects personal choice. The part-time Residential Counselor provides various support services to the residents and is responsible for training and assisting residents in the activities of daily living.
- Participate in the planning and evaluation of individual service plans and monitor plan objectives.
- Document services provided with appropriate notes.
- Train and assist residents in the activities of daily living.
- Manage medication.
- Provide case management and follow-up service.
- Provide counseling, behavioral intervention and crisis management services.
- Assist in the day-to-day management and household maintenance of the community residence in a professional manner.
- Provide transportation for residents as needed.
- Responsibility for management of residence in the absence of a full time counselor.
- Notify the Program Supervisor/Program Manager of any medical or psychiatric emergency.
