A key Optimus client is looking for a high-achieving recent graduate with a strong GPA ( in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Economics or another other business-related discipline) as well as an interest in entering the energy commodities trading industry to become a Junior ETRM Developer. (ETRM stands for Energy Trading Risk Management system). This is a very in-demand skillset that will be learned on the job and can jumpstart a very productive and lucrative career in the trading world for the right person.

The Jr Developer will:

• Manage competing priorities
• Define and understand best practices
• Ensure data and control integrity is maintained.
• Develop/create high-quality software according to detailed business specifications
• Develop solutions to support business changes.
• Leverage multiple modules of an ETRM (Energy Risk Trading Management system) in a newer version

The Jr Developer must have:

• Bachelor's degree in IT related discipline, or Finance, Business, Economics, etc.
• Proficiency in the MS Office Suite
• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Strong technical skills and business acumen
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written
• The ability to explain technical and functional information in a way that all can understand.
• A strong work ethic - willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and do whatever is needed to get the job done.
• Creativity, but remain cognizant of the commercial impact of solutions.
• A "team first" mentality
• Coding skills like C#, Python, SQL, VBA, and other coding languages – as well as the ability to learn new languages.
• Some trading industry experience (i.e. energy internship) will be prioritized
