Optimize U PDX is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Portland, OR

In the Medical Assistant role at Optimize U, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our clinic. We are looking for a proactive and versatile individual who excels at multitasking, problem-solving, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for various tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing client inquiries, handling administrative duties, and supporting our team in delivering the best possible care to our clients. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, this position will also involve performing Phlebotomy as one of the key duties. Comprehensive training will be provided for candidates who do not have prior experience in this area.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and warmly greet incoming and prospective clients in a professional manner
  • Educate clients about the comprehensive range of services and offerings provided by Optimize U, emphasizing how these offerings can positively impact and enhance their individual health journeys
  • Efficiently schedule client appointments and manage multiple calendars simultaneously
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork for incoming appointments, including client and staff documents
  • Perform patient vitals when required
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients regarding appointments, prescriptions, and other necessary information
  • Take detailed messages for staff member callbacks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all clinic areas, including room turnovers and equipment management between appointments
  • Coordinate with external vendors as needed
  • Generate invoices, process payments, and manage outstanding accounts
  • Assist team members with various tasks as required
  • Manage retail inventory and create ordering lists
  • Pursue in-house certification as a phlebotomist and perform phlebotomy duties as necessary

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical background
  • Experience with billing and invoicing
  • Familiarity with EMRs and/or CRMs
  • Experience working at a startup or small company
  • Previous front desk or scheduling experience
  • Proficient phone etiquette
  • Background in Phlebotomy
  • Prior Medical Assistant experience
