Position Description:
Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer
Internal Combustion Engine Propulsion & Thermal System Engineering (IPTSE) and Underbody System Engineering (UnSE).The PVT Engineer at Chicago is 'first line of defense' with regards to Quality for the Explorer, Aviator, and Police Interceptor products produced at CAP.
The PVT Engineer has responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the quality of the vehicles:
Review incoming warranty claims data daily, review customer and dealership comments, bin claims into proper categories, contact dealerships for parts and repair diagnoses, participate in customer call back to ensure proper understanding of customer inputs in Quality surveys, review returned parts for root cause analysis and develop Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions.
Skills Required:
Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills
Ability to establish a systems engineering approach to problem solving
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Excellent presentation/communication skills -Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Engineering Problem Solving; root cause identification and analysis, developing Containment Actions and Permanent Corrective Actions
Working in a fast-paced challenging environment.
Skills Preferred:
Six-Sigma Training (green belt or black belt)
Experience Required:
Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry
Experience Preferred:
Experience with automotive systems, especially chassis, suspension, braking, powertrain. Change management experience.
Education Required:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Education Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred
