Responsibilities for Materials Manager

• Establishes and ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
• Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
• Collaborate with other managers and corporate Purchasing to determine supply needs
• Develop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies and establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory
• Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates: Group Leader and Line Leader
• Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
• Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems
• Prepare reports on inventory, material usage and efficiency

Qualifications for Materials Manager

• 3 years' experience in a materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing role
• Previous experience implementing an ERP system
• In depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems
• Hands on experience with forecasting and budgeting
• Analytical thinking with problem solving aptitude
• Working knowledge of ERP systems
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Previous experience in a start-up environment a plus
• BS/BA in logistics, materials management or similar relevant field
