Job Description: RN Wound Nurse / Unit Manager

Job Summary:

The RN Wound Nurse / Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the wound care unit and providing direct patient care to individuals with complex wounds. The position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the wound care unit and ensure that all policies and procedures are followed
• Provide direct patient care to individuals with complex wounds
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care plans for patients
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care
• Develop and implement educational programs for patients, families, and staff
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure that the wound care unit meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements
• Supervise and mentor other wound care nurses and staff

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of Michigan
• Certification in wound care (WOCN) preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in wound care
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
• Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of wound care best practices
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
