OpSource Staffing is Hiring a Manufacturing Technician Near Union, SC

Opsource has partnered with a global manufacturer and provider of reusable textiles used in healthcare, hospitality, and education industry. The company is located in the Union, SC area.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Bleaching Range Operator will be responsible for the creeling, loading, and unloading of a JET Bleaching Range.
  • Using a forklift and hoist to load rolls of cloth onto the creel.
  • Loading cloth into the jet and monitoring each step during the bleaching process.
  • Visual inspection of the sheeting cloth and measuring the whiteness of the cloth using UltraScan Vis.
  • Doffing A-Frames of sheeting.
  • Moving A-Frames to the Tenter Frame or the staging area with the assistance of a tugger.
  • Safety checks, set up, and operation of the Jet
  • Performing housekeeping duties including (but not limited to) sweeping, mopping, hosing down flooring/equipment, and removing waste.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Visually inspect, perform quality assurance, and roll up cloth at the exit of the Tenter Frame.
  • Inspect fabric for holes, tears, bad seams, shade, dirt and grease, etc. and notify supervisor of any problems.
  • Maintain production and downtime records and record on the proper forms.
  • Communicate with other assigned operators concerning lot and style changes, problems with fabric or equipment, and prior to starting or stopping range.
  • Perform cleaning and threading operations on assignment equipment and assist in general department.
  • Observe instrument panels and make necessary adjustments to guides, chain, temperature, pad pressure, etc.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all facets of range operations to be able to work as part of a team.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to include oiling bearings and filling automatic oiling system with oil.
  • Follow SOP in the operation, cleaning, maintenance, and threading of equipment to meet or exceed requirements for production and quality of assigned operator.
  • Perform such duties as directed in order to facilitate an efficient operation, promote safety and good housekeeping.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year production or machine operation experience
  • Good communication skills and ability to read/write English
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Slitter Operator Job Responsibilities:
  • Check set-up of machine at beginning of the shift.
  • Monitor appearance of fabric as well as machine operation and notify supervisor of bad quality or machine malfunction.
  • Sew in cloth for slitter frame from the dye house and batch and turn.
  • Check blade at the beginning, during and at the end of the shift for burrs, bad belts and bad rollers.
  • Cover slit cloth and stage in the proper area.
  • Maintain clean tubs for the cloth to be slit into
Dryer Operator Job Responsibilities:
  • Obtain full truck of fabric and sew open seams and holes.
  • Position trucks at dryer to begin the process of drying the fabric.
  • Position empty truck at the exit end of dryer to catch dried fabric.
  • Patrol dryer and keep watch for holes, continuous defects and fires.
  • Monitor and maintain temperature, overfeed and machine speed.
  • Cut shade checks for lab testing.
  • Push full truck to finishing compactor machine.
  • Clean lint from screens located inside the dryer as required.
  • Cut samples for lab testing, take shade cut on dye cloth from each roll.
  • Record appropriate information on production sheet.
  • Clean work area and machine at the end of shift or as needed.
Napper Operator Job Responsibilities:
  • Obtain buggy of cloth from dryer to be processed according to process sheet. If it is bleached make sure the whiteness has been approved.
  • Sew buggy of cloth onto leader cloth or onto lot already threaded into the machine. Make sure the seam is straight.
  • All holes in the cloth as it enters the napper must be caught and sewn together.
  • Must keep hands from all moving parts while the napper is in motion.
  • When you are ready to doff off a buggy from the napper, cut the roll on a seam only. Write lot number and size on each end of every strand.
  • Once the lot is complete it must be pushed to the compactor for further processing.
  • Empty the lint bag at the back of the napper prior to end of shift.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year production or machine operation experience
  • Good communication skills and ability to read/write English
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 lbs
