OPS Consulting is seeking a Technical Writer Level 2 to work in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Job Description: The Technical Writer (TW) will assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications. The TW will need to understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), and be responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents. The TW will also need to be able to gather technical information, prepare written text and maintain a current internal documentation library. Additional responsibilities will include:
Job Description: The Technical Writer (TW) will assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications. The TW will need to understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), and be responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents. The TW will also need to be able to gather technical information, prepare written text and maintain a current internal documentation library. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials
- Prepare and maintain operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications
- Research highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and express technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers
- Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources
- Act as project leader for projects with complex or voluminous documentation and may provide or coordinate special documentation services as required
- 6 years of experience as a TW with a Bachelor’s degree completed in a technical discipline. In lieu of a technical degree, an additional 4 years of experience is required to equal 8 total years’ experience (OR)
- A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.
