Opportunities with The Dixon Group is Hiring a Government Contract Estimator Near Stevensville, MD

Hydrasearch is looking for a Government Contracts Estimator to join our team in Stevensville, MD! Our government contract estimator candidate will provide customer service and inside sales support for our Defense and Aerospace customers. Responsibilities will include generating quotations, order entry, issuing RFQ’s to vendors, and responding to customer inquiries. Strong communication skills with internal and external customers is highly valued. A successful candidate will be highly organized, will be detail oriented, have a professional demeanor, and have a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will have familiarity working in a manufacturing environment. We are looking to hire for these skills and are willing to train the individual for the specific tasks we require.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze government contract requirements and specifications for compliance.
  • Develop detailed cost and lead time estimates for labor, materials, outside services, etc.
  • Conduct cost and sensitivity analysis for pricing risks/opportunities
  • Stay updated on industry trends and procurement regulations.
  • Provide support during contract negotiations and modifications

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficiently use ERP system to create estimates, investigate customer contracts, validate bills of materials, job routers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of metal shop/manufacturing workflows preferred
  • Ensure accuracy of estimates, customer contracts, drawings, electronic files, job routings, work instructions, etc.
  • Ability to examine in process jobs and coordinate with production and scheduling for timely delivery to align with customer expectations
  • Proactive communicator, in written and verbal mediums with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and morale during all tasks and interactions.
  • Ability to understand blueprints and material requirements preferred.
